Experimentation. Transcendence. Rapture.
PORTUGAL | 104 minutes | 2018
An old man collects bottles from neighbours and goes on a journey to bring drinking water. It is a snowy night and the scattered sound of bullets reigns on the town under siege. The man meets a boy under a tree by a river, where they learn that they share one secret and where they find in each other the serenity, the silence and the time they lost in the flowing water of the river. A piece of pure cinema, both meditative and sensorial, DRVO is an accomplished tribute to Béla Tarr by his previous student André Gil Mata. NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE
