Through its ambitious, eclectic line-up of cinema from here and around the world (380 films and digital works from 60 countries in 2017), the Festival du nouveau cinéma has always been determined to expand the horizons of Montreal audiences by offering new ways of presenting images.
The FNC now organizes regular events throughout the year and invites you to various and sometimes unusual meetings.

YOUNG /SCHOLASTIC AUDIENCES

In order to continue the experience and expand knowledge about cinema, the arts and image education offered to young audiences is split between the Festival period and the school year.

This involves providing students, their teachers and kids in youth centres with the conditions conducive to developing discussions and a certain critical outlook as well as reflecting on where human beings stand in the midst of this new equation. These activities in a school setting could be hosted by filmmakers and professionals to help children continue discovering film and cinema through the sharing of experiences and knowledge.

  • During the week, the FNC offers school screenings of films or short-film line-ups from the P’tits Loups section to elementary and secondary schoolchildren and teachers, as well as to CPEs or other educational institutions.
  • The FNC meets the strategic or educational objectives of institutional aid programs through workshops and day camps for digital and image-related educational practice.
  • More broadly, the Festival offers organizations the possibility of building educational projects with FNC artists throughout the year.

Parents, teachers, educational teams, do not hesitate to contact us to give your youth an educational and fun experience!
