The winners of the short film of the 46th edition of the Festival du nouveau cinéma.
The Festival du nouveau cinéma held this year his second evening of awards entirely dedicated to short films. We are proud to announce the winners of the short film of this 46th edition:
The jury International Competition – was comprised by Natasha Kanapé Fontaine, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau and Véronique Barbe.
Best short film in the International Competition.
SPECIAL MENTION FROM THE JURY: TESLA LUMIÈRE MONDIALE by MATTHEW RANKIN (Quebec/Canada)
WINNER : COPA-LOCA by CHRISTOS MASSALAS (Greece)
The jury Focus Québec/Canada – shorts films was comprised by Wouter Jansen, Sanne Jehoul and Samya Papasoff.
Best short film in the Focus Québec/Canada competition ($15,000 in camera and/or post-production services awarded by CineGround).
MILK by HEATHER YOUNG (Nova Scotia, Canada)
Best short film in french language in the Focus Québec/Canada competition ($2,000 cash from Unis TV).
CRÈME DE MENTHE by JEAN-MARC E. ROY and PHILIPPE DAVID GAGNÉ
The jury Les nouveaux alchimistes – shorts films was comprised by Pierre Hébert, Delphine Jeanneret and Guillaume Lafleur.
Dada Award presented by Main Film and Mubi experimentation Award presented by Mubi
Best short film Les nouveaux alchimistes compétition ($1,000 cash from Main Film and exclusive broadcast on the Mubi platform).
SPECIAL MENTION : WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MOUNTAIN by CHRISTIN TURNER (USA)
WINNER : PAINTING WITH HISTORY IN A ROOM FILLED WITH PEOPLE WITH FUNNY NAMES 3 by KORAKRIT ARUNANONDCHAI (Thaïland/USA)
The winners will each receive a trophy from the sculptor Pierre Dupras.
