JOB DESCRIPTION 

The core mission of the Communication and Marketing Assistant is to support the Communication and Marketing department. 

TASK LIST

1/ NEWSLETTER MANAGEMENT

  • Edit the newsletters in French and in English :
  • Iconographic research to illustrate and make the content of each newsletter more dynamic ;
  • Run the partners banners depending on the agreements handled by the manager and the director of the Communication department ;
  • Produce the newsletter in French, then in English by using the templates (Mailchimp), and mail to the members, following the schedule defined by the manager and the director of the Communication department.

2/ WEBSITE UPDATE / In collaboration with the Community manager:

  • Update the website pages, except for the Programming section;
  • Update the website during the Festival:
    • News (spread the information of the daily newsletter);
    • Pictures (upload the daily pictures gallery online).

3/ SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT / In collaboration with the Community manager:

  • Cover the activities and events linked with the FNC eXPlore section;
  • Provide innovative contents to run the various social media of the Festival (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube). 

4/ TRAILER DISTRIBUTION / Coordinate the distribution of the promotional FNC trailer:

  • Develop and renew the agreements with the commercial and independent cinemas (Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Toronto);
  • Develop and renew the agreements with students associations, colleges and universities, in collaboration with the Communication manager;
  • Coordinate the trailer dispatching to the media and/or strategic partners in collaboration with the Communication director. 

5/ CONTESTS COORDINATION / In collaboration with the Communication manager:

  • Follow the contests established with the partners, make sure the contest is well conducted (publication, draw), inform the box-office, collect statistics…
  • Coordinate Temps 0 Audience Award (make sure the contest coupons are well delivered in the movie theaters during the Festival and then collected at the end of the Festival, before the counting).

6/ AD SALES / In collaboration with the Communication manager:

  • Research of prospective advertisers for the various Festival publications (online/offline);
  • Coordinate the ads reception. 

7/ AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENTS / In collaboration with the Communication manager:

  • Help in the organization of the Rencontres pancanadiennes du cinéma étudiant (RPCÉ);
  • Participate to the presentations in class and the educational projects (day camps, schools events, etc). 

And any other tasks which the Communication manager and director may require.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully bilingual (French and English)
  • Excellent verbal (public presentations) and written communication skills, especially with digital media (newsletter, website, social media)
  • Software: OFFICE MAC suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Understanding of database concepts (Zone Festival, Mailchimp)
  • Dynamic, flexible, pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be able to handle short deadlinesinvolved in event promotion
  • Cultural background and journalistic profile (asset)
  • Editing tools skills such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (asset)

CONDITIONS

  • Variable schedule
  • Hour rate (to be determined)
  • Entry date: 2017, May 15
  • Contract duration: 6 months
  • Be eligible for a wage subsidy from Emploi-Québec (required)
