Experimentation. Transcendence. Rapture.
THAILAND | 75 minutes | 2017
Death is often unexpected — and for the most part, preceded by perfectly ordinary events. Friends gather to celebrate their graduation; a brother and sister meet again after a time apart; an actress is called onto a set. Director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit draws on stories seen in the news to build a celluloid collage of the events that unfold during the last 24 hours of his characters’ lives. An entertaining-yet-serious meditation, not just on mortality, but also on the beauty of life’s fleeting moments. NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE
